it is big and takes a some of oil. The bonus about this is the scent is spread far and quick. I can smell it across the room within seconds of turning it on. This is my first diffuser so I am not sure how much oil others take but I put in about 20-40 drops of oil to fill it to required amount but I can add more water when the level gets low and still enjoy the same level of scent. very good
